President’s Letter

       Happy Holidays!

Our Chapter has had a very good year.  We are thankful for the many new members that have joined us.  Let’s rejoice and extend our hand to those less fortunate.  Happy Holidays!

    Bidding you adieu!

I want to take this time to thank all of you that have supported me and the South King County Chapter over the years.  After serving on the Board for 20 years in various roles with the President as the final chapter, this is my farewell letter.

I have watched many members come and go, but our Chapter has always remained welcoming and engaging to new members.  I am very pleased with the growth that we have had this year, which resulted in our Chapter reaching superstar status from SHRM.  This is a testament to all of you that have encouraged your friends to join our group.  Continue to show the warmth and generosity that you have displayed in the past.  South King County may be a small Chapter, but we are mighty!!

You will be served in 2014 by an outstanding Board, and I encourage you to step up and volunteer for committees when they have a call to action. In the coming months, you will hopefully have an opportunity to spend some time at Northwest Harvest and give back.  It’s important for our community to know that our Chapter believes in giving back and supporting the local community that has helped us in the past with our Sip ‘n Shops and charitable events that required donations.

Thank you for your contributions to our profession.  I’m honored to be amongst you and will continue to help advance our profession in the years to come.

Happy Holidays to you and your families.  I wish you all a very happy and prosperous 2014.

Our next meeting is Thursday, December 12, at 11:30am.  I hope to see many of you there to close out 2013 with us.  Our speaker will be presenting the topic of Marijuana in the Workplace.  It’s very timely and we can all use a little guidance.  For those of you that attend, there will be a little something extra to take away on your tables.  See you there!

Until then, stay positive and when you can….pay it forward.
